CommitteesMunicipal committeesThe Council can create committees to examine and analyze certain files in depth. These committees play a consultative role, which means that they have a mandate to report to the Council and submit recommendations to it. The Council makes the final decision. The role of the committees is to support both the work of the municipal managers and the planning and development initiatives. The Council is responsible for the make-up of the committees and can invite anyone it believes is likely to help it with its work: area specialists, members of organizations, representatives of the public, among others. The Urban Planning Consultative Committee, for example, has citizen members.
