Finance and Taxation

The Finance Department is responsible for ensuring the sound financial management of the Municipality. In concrete terms, the Department applies the taxation and accounting rules in keeping with the municipal standards established by the Government of Québec and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). The Department also applies various accounting policies and controls in order to ensure transparent management. More specifically, the Department prepares financial statements, the budget and the three-year capital assets program. It handles taxation and collection of monies as well as the production of the payroll and the payment of accounts payable. It sees to the accounting and financing for various capital asset projects.
