Les Formidables Day Camp

In response to questions regarding Les Formidables 2022 municipal day camp

La Pêche, May 18, 2022 - The labour shortage is widespread across the province and all organizations are struggling to recruit employees. Day camps are no exception. For example, the Association des camps du Québec reported statistics that, as of May 13, only 15% of camps had filled their teams.

The Municipality of La Pêche is aware of the recruitment challenges, having invested exceptional efforts in its day camp recruitment campaign. Unfortunately, all the efforts invested did not allow us to obtain the necessary candidates to form a complete team. The Municipality is therefore forced to announce the cancellation of its day camp in 2022.

The Municipality regrets having to make this difficult decision. It is for this reason that it wishes to offer the families and children of the Municipality options likely to help them.

The Municipality of La Pêche continues to offer families of modest means the possibility of receiving financial assistance of $150 per week, per child (5 to 12 years old) registered in a day camp, upon presentation of the following documents:

  • Proof of registration (payment receipt);
  • Proof of family income below $49,020 [note: a copy of the family's notice of assessment (both parents) will be required to qualify for this assistance].
The application, along with the above documents, should be sent by email to campdejour@villelapeche.qc.ca. Please note that this measure applies for the weeks from June 27 to August 26, 2022, and only to families with their primary residence in La Pêche.
    In addition, the Municipality will enhance the programming already offered in the parks during the summer weeks by the Maison de la famille L'Étincelle , in partnership with the latter.
