Wakefield Christmas Market and Traffic Management
December 4, 2019

Thousands of visitors will be attending the 7th edition of the Wakefield Christmas Market at Centre Wakefield La Pêche (38, chemin de la Vallée-de-Wakefield) this Saturday December 7, 2019. This event will generate challenges in terms of traffic management and road safety. To help with traffic management, the Public Security Services of the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais is asking visitors coming to the market from the south using Highway 5 to get off the highway at the Cross Loop exit, then take highway 105 North and use the park-and-ride facility located at the Morrison Quarry (Great Canadian Bungee). Alternatively, it is possible to continue on Highway 5 up to the end of the highway (circumventing Wakefield), and from there, to take Burnside Road that goes down to the other park-and-ride facility located at the Vorlage Ski Center. At both locations, shuttles will be getting visitors to and from the market.

Please also note that Vallée-de-Wakefield Road will be one way only (going down towards the village) between 12:00 (noon) and 9:00 p.m.
