Wakefield Waterfront Revitalization Project and Borrowing By-Law: Opening of a register

The Municipality wishes to inform the population that two public notice was published, following the adoption ofRèglement 17-737 décrétant une dépense de 149 000$ et un emprunt de 149 000$ pour l'amélioration aux parcs afin de permettre le projet de revitalisation du secteur riverain de la Rivière Gatineau, secteur Wakefield  andRèglement 17-738 décrétant une dépense de 200 000$ et un emprunt de 200 000$ pour la réfection des bâtiments des toilettes et l'expansion, l’amélioration des aires de stationnement et la construction d'une promenade, afin de permettre le projet de revitalisation du secteur riverain de la rivière Gatineau, secteur Wakefield ,  indicating that two register would be opened to allow persons qualified to vote (under the conditions set out in the Public Notice) to request that By-Laws 17-737 and 17-738be submitted to a referendum.

For each of the by-law, a reister will be held and five hundred (500) signatures (per register) are required in order for a referendum to be held. If there are fewer signatures registered than the required number, the by-law will be considered approved. If the required number of signatures is registered, the municipal council will have to decide whether to cancel the borrowing by-law (and by way of consequence the contribution of the Municipality to the revitalization project) or submit it to a referendum.

To sign the register requesting that a referendum be held, persons qualified to vote must come to the Municipal Office on March 8th, 2017, between  8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m..
